A CO-EDUCATIONAL PREP SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN AGED 4-11
Parents of children entering Year 3 or above will be able to apply for means tested assistance, details of which may be obtained from the Bursar. These will be offered subject to the child remaining at Hornsby House until the end of Year 6.
We are delighted to announce the introduction of three scholarships for pupils entering the school at Year 4. There are two awards for children who show outstanding academic ability and one all rounder award for a child who displays a sound standard academically and shows exceptional ability in either Music or Sport.
In addition to the the Scholarships, financial support in the form of means-tested bursaries are also available for parents unable to afford the standard fees and may meet up to 100% of the remaining tuition fees, depending on the personal circumstances of the applicant.
A music audition is held and candidates should be at Grade 3 standard or above. They will be asked to play one piece on their first instrument and one piece on their second (if applicable) and be prepared to sing their favourite song. The audition is followed by an interview.
The children will take part in a range of activities and be asked to show basic skills in one or more of our main sports: Football, Netball, Rugby, Hockey, Cricket and Rounders. It is understood that some pupils will have had little, if any, experience of these sports. They will also have a brief interview to discuss their sporting interests.
